Ok, so anybody who knows me will know of my feelings for the hugely talented Zooey Deschanel. I love her films. I love her voice. Heck, I've written two (slightly creepy) pastiche songs in her honour. So it shouldn't surprise anyone that she's appearing here in my Hot Trumps list. So, without further ado…
Full Name: Zooey Claire Deschanel
D.o.B.(+/- Pea): 17/01/80 (+4)
Nationality: American
Character Ref: Too many to choose from…think I first fell in love with her as Jovie the department store assistant in 'Elf'. Sigh!
Notes: Actress, Musician, Singer-Songwriter. Daughter of an Academy Award-nominated cinematographer and an actress. Of Irish & French descent. Amazing old-timey singing voice; sounds like she should be dueting with Bing.
Must-see Moment: Anytime she's singing. Also being carried through check-in by Jim Carrey in the film version of Danny Wallace's brilliant book (one of the few books I've ever read), 'Yes Man'.
LOOKS: 9.4
PERSONALITY: 9.1
WIFEABILITY: 5.0 (Married Ben Gibbard in September 2009 - I would be filled with hatred towards him but he sings in one of my favourite bands so I'll allow it…)
X-FACTOR: 8.9
I love her clothes. I love her hairdo. She has the most beautifully American accent, which I dig. She seems like someone who'd get really passionate about the little things, like I do. I get the feeling if we were hanging out and it was 5am and I wanted to go play frisbee in the park she'd be totally in. And that's pretty much all I'm looking for in a girl.
Oh yeah, and I've written parody songs about her two consecutive Christmasses in a row, pre and post finding out she was married:
The Incomparable Peanut - All I Want For Christmas Is Zoo (2008)
The Incomparable Peanut - It'll Be Zooey This Christmas (2009)
It's not creepy because I *actually* loved her. It's endearing.
IT'S ENDEARING.
